Course Description

A loop around Horsetooth Mountain Open Space; Half Marathoners do the loop twice. There will be two aid stations - no cups provided; runners must bring their own water bottles. You can find a great description of the route on Thoos. The course is the same as it has been in the past; the map has been updated to show this.

Runner Course Description:

Runners start on the Soderberg service drive by the upper Horsetooth parking lot and take the service drive to the Horsetooth Rock hiking trail at just under a mile. Take the Horsetooth hiking trail (left) to the intersection with the Wathan trail (2 miles), and run a very short distance to the intersection with the Westridge trail. Take the Westridge trail across the ridge under Horsetooth Rock to Towers Road where you make a right and descend for close to a mile to the intersection with Herrington. Take Herrington (right) to the Spring Creek trail and make a left on Spring Creek to the Soderberg intersection. Take Soderberg (right/straight) all the way to the finish by the parking lot if you are running the short course. If you are running the long course, take Soderberg back to the Horsetooth Rock hiking trail and repeat the loop by making a right back onto the trail and running Horsetooth - Wathan - Westridge - Towers - Herrington - Spring Creek - Soderberg again. After finishing the second loop, continue past the Horsetooth Rock intersection back to the finish by the parking lot.
